NATHALIE DREIER
Nathalie Dreier is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Zurich. Her work incorporates photography, sound, performance, body installations, video, and text. With an academic background in linguistics and expertise in audiovisual translation and the conveyance of music, she thrives on traversing and linking various disciplines to investigate the possibilities and limits of both verbal and non-verbal communication. Her interest lies in the topics of identity, group dynamics, intimacy, incorporeality and sexuality, while also drawing inspiration from the shadowy facets of these themes. Her current work explores the human body and the psychosomatic experience as both subject and medium.
She has participated in exhibitions worldwide including Insight Photo Festival Varese (2024), Biennale internationale de photographie Clermont-Ferrand (2022), Verzasca Photo Festival (2021), Schwules Museum Berlin (2019). Her work has been included in international publications and books, including New Queer Photography: Focus On The Margins (2020, Verlag Kettler), THE OPÉRA (2021, Volume X, Kerber Verlag) and LF La Fotografia Magazine (2021) and released on the labels Misanthropic Agenda (US), Black Horizons (US), FormResonance (DE) and Cruel Bones (CH).
She is currently also part of Red Rubber Road, an ongoing photographic and performative body of work by AnaHell and Nathalie Dreier established in 2015, as well the music group Perverts in White Shirts by Nathalie Dreier and Dave Phillips that has been active since 2011.
